Tasks is the cross-module work tracker for Zeno. Use it for follow-up that belongs to a property, tenant, project, vendor, customer, engagement, or internal owner, and use Notes for context that needs to stay searchable without becoming a work item.

Creating tasks

Create a task when someone needs to do something. A task can hold a title, description, assignee, priority, start date, due date, linked entities, recurrence, subtasks, comments, and attachments. Link tasks to the record they belong to. A task linked to a tenant, project, vendor, contractor job, customer, or engagement appears from that record’s detail page as well as in the main Tasks module. See Tasks & Notes for the full task form, views, filters, recurrence, templates, and column settings.

Choosing a view

Use the view switcher on Tasks based on the kind of work you are managing:
  • Weekly for due-date planning
  • Monthly for calendar scanning
  • Board for status movement
  • List for filtering, grouping, sorting, and batch review
The owner filter switches between Mine, All, and Unassigned. Preset tabs show My Open, Overdue, This Week, and All.

Working from module records

Tasks become more useful when they are linked to the record where the work happens:
  • Rental teams can link tasks to properties, units, tenants, vendors, and invoices.
  • Development teams can link tasks to projects, buyers, unit sales, vendors, bills, and payments.
  • Contractor teams can link tasks to jobs, customers, vendors, estimates, and invoices.
  • Practice teams can link tasks to clients, businesses, engagements, invoices, and payments.
Use the main Tasks module for planning across the organization. Use the record detail page when you are already inside the work and need only the tasks attached to that record.

Using notes

Use Notes for meeting summaries, phone calls, instructions, and other context that should not become an open task. Notes can link to the same kinds of entities as tasks and can carry attachments. A note can also be linked from a task when the task needs background context.

Templates and settings

Task Templates create reusable checklists for repeated workflows. Apply a template to create a set of tasks with relative due dates and priorities already filled in. Task settings control which columns appear in list view, including status, priority, linked record, due date, start date, and assignee.
