# Chat

> Internal team messaging inside Zeno.

Chat is internal team messaging inside Zeno. Ask a teammate about a tenant, drop a note on a vendor, or follow up on a project issue with the related record open in another tab.

## Where it lives

Open **Chat** from **More** in the sidebar. It's available across modules when the Chat module is enabled.

## Conversations

The left sidebar lists every conversation you're in — direct messages, group channels, and record-specific threads — in a single list with live unread counts. Use the **+** action to start a new one.

## Messages

Select a conversation to open the message panel. Messages update live, and read/unread state stays in sync across the app.

Chat is for internal coordination only. Customer email threads still live in [Emails](https://zenorent.com/docs/workflow/emails.md).
